The Global Goals: The Poet Protesting Femicide in South Africa

The Global Goals website is always sharing inspiring stories from around the world. Recently, they shared the tale of poet Koleka Putuma.

Every three hours, a South African woman is killed, and the country has one of the highest femicide rates in the world. Koleka Putuma's moving words serve as a reminder that 365 days a year, women in South Africa, and all over the world, have the right to be safe and live without fear of violence. We must commit to standing up for the rights of women and girls and continue the fight to end gender-based violence.
